"No and no. Black Calavera Tattoos is a Tattoo only studio. Look up local reviews for your area and choose the best piercing studio that fits your needs." ​

How old do I need to be to get a tattoo?

"You must be at 18 years of age OR 16/17 with notarized parental consent form and with design approval."

Is a deposit required for booking an appointment?

"Once you and I have settled all the details regarding scheduling your appointment and your tattoo idea, you will be required to submit a deposit of ******** The deposit will be applied to the final total for the appointment.

 

I submitted a contact form and have not gotten a response.

"If there is a high volume of requests, I may need a few weeks to process all the submissions. If you have not heard back with in 2 weeks, feel free to send a follow up email."

Where are you located?

"My studio, BlackCalavera,  is located in Deland, Florida about 35 minutes north east of Orlando.

What forms of payment do you accept?

"I prefer cash, but can also accommodate for cards as well.

What kind of styles do you do?

I found a design on the internet and want it as a tattoo. Will do you do that?

"I only work with original designs - however, I can certainly use the design you found as a reference for creating a custom design."

Do you charge a fee for drawing my tattoo?

"I do not charge a fee up front for drawing designs. However, if I have already finished the design and you decide to make changes that require drastic reworking, an additional fee will be added to the final total for the appointment."

Can I change my design?

"You are welcome to change your design while in the planning process. However, any serious changes once the tattoo has been finalized will require an additional fee."

When can I see the finished design?

"You will normally not see the completed design until you arrive for your appointment. Any necessary alterations that need to be made will be done when you show up for your appointment."

Will I need more than one session?

"Depending on the size of the tattoo, I may need more than one session to complete the piece. I may also decide to break up the session during the appointment (due to time constraints, clients pain tolerance, and/or design changes). If multiple sessions are required, I would either continue the following day depending on availability, or you would need to wait until after the tattoo is fully healed (2-4 weeks). If you are not local, please take this possibility into consideration when scheduling your appointment."

What happens if I cannot make it to my appointment?

"You may reschedule up to 24 hours in advance of your appointment. Any cancellation made less than 24 hours prior to your appointment will cause your deposit to be forfeited. You may reschedule one time without incurring any additional fees. In the case of a serious emergency, please be communicative and I will do his best to work something out with you."

What is your policy on emergency circumstances/last minute cancellations?

"If your appointment is postponed due to circumstances outside our control (i.e. weather, extreme illness, etc.), I will offer you the earliest next available appointment slot in my schedule. If you are traveling from out of town and unable to make any future dates, you will receive a full refund of your deposit."

Can I bring a friend?

"While your friends (or family members) are welcome to accompany you to the appointment and return to pick you up, I cannot accommodate for more than one visitor in the tattoo area during the tattooing process."

Can I commission a design if I live far way?

"I want to give you the best tattoo possible, and I cannot control what other tattoo artists outside of the studio will do with my designs. Because of this, I only create designs for use by myself alone."

What if I need a touch-up?

"Before deciding if your tattoo needs retouching, please allow a month minimum for it to heal completely. Once that time has passed, email me directly with a picture of your tattoo and the concerns you have. I will respond and offer a time to perform the touch-up if deemed necessary. The first scheduled touch-up is free of charge. Further touch-ups or alterations will require additional fees.

Touch ups on hands, feet, head/neck are subject to minimum fee of $60, first or otherwise."

Do you have a vegan ink option?

"As of right now, I do not use vegan ink."

What do I need to do after my tattoo is finished?

"Please see the aftercare instructions for details."

How long will my tattoo take to heal?

"Your tattoo will be mostly healed in 2 weeks, fully healed in approximately 1 month. When scheduling your appointment, please make sure to avoid plans that involve a lot of sun/water and exposure during the healing period."

Will my tattoo fade/change much?

"While this varies somewhat based on different skin types, the best solution to avoid fading and changing is to follow all the after care instructions and keep your tattoo healthy and clean."

 

How does skin tone affect the coloring of the tattoo?

"After healing, certain colors may appear differently than expected with darker skin tones. Please consult with me about specific color choices you may have for your tattoo."

Are there breaks during the appointment?

"I will generally take a break every 1-2 hours."
